KATHLEEN GRIFFIN (1899 – C.1991)

Alongside her friend’s drawings of a pansy flower and poems, the teenage Kathleen Griffin gathered the signatures of many notable figures from Ireland’s Revolutionary Years: Michael Collins, Countess Markevicz, Arthur Griffith, Austin Stack, Alice Milligan, Count Plunkett – all of whom were in Clare in 1917 to support Éamon de Valera’s East Clare by-election campaign.
The book was donated to Clare Museum to mark the 100th anniversary of the by-election in July 2017.
